Well, today on the 3rd Day of the Second month of 2010, I wish that the country of great leaders like MAHATAMA GANDHI, SARDAR PATEL sees perspective & sanity beyond the spectrum of "gunda" politics being doled out by parties like MNS & SHIV SENA.
For the purpose of this write up, let me state that I am no fan of CONGRESS/ BJP/ NCP or for that matter any political party. I am an APOLITICAL Being just like 50% of this country is. However, I am apalled & puzzled at the state of affairs this country is going through & most of us watch it over news channels without a reaction.
I just wish that someone could asks MNS & SHIV SENA to account & take ownership for the extent & amount of damage & destruction they have done to the country's INFRASTRUCTURE, ROADS, BUSES, OFFICES, our PEOPLE who came here leaving everything behind for finding jobs. The account is un-imaginably painful. It is beyond financials in terms of broken hearts, broken confidence & broken dreams.
In the times when our country is surrounded from all corners by enemies nursing desires to capture our territories & harm our country's soveriegnity, democratic fervour & pride, our politicians are busy delivering speeches & editorials in their personal mouthpieces against our own brothers & sisters.
Let me ask all of us, what is the difference between the AUSTRALIANS & the CADRES of MNS & SHIV SAINIKS in this COUNTRY. AUSTRALIANS attacked our people outside INDIA but was the attack on our NORTH INDIAN POPULACE in MAHARASHTRA any different.
It shocks me to see that in one country, we still find time to draw lines between us and that too at a time when the world is trying to test our borders already. The friendly neighbourhood of NEPAL, CHINA, PAKISTAN, SRI LANKA, BANGLADESH doesn't have much brotherhood left for us. I think it is time for us INDIANS, to wake up & smell the coffee.
What is this cause of One Race of INDIANS, which places them up against another RACE of INDIANS. Imagine, if we all divide our selves like the way SHIV SENA/ MNS dictates in the name of cause of MARATHI MANOOS, do we need any police or any armed forces to protect us anymore. What will happen if every state in INDIA starts dictating its terms for the local manoos. Where will the common man who is an INDIAN go for employment? Any INDIAN in INDIA has got complete freedom to go anywhere, work anywhere, marry anyone & no one has got any right to stop it.
It is surprising to see a veteran like BAL THACKERAY write so much about our own countrymen. These leaders have time to criticize AMITHABH, SACHIN, SHAHRUKH, AAMIR, MUKESH AMBANI & everyone who stands up against the rising heads of AUTOCRATIC POLITICS in this country. Let us learn our lessons. These politicians are neither your well wisher nor mine. They are not fighting for the Manoos but his votes.
I think 26/11 wasn't an example of how united we were. It was a lesson that we need to learn from. We need each other. Rather we have only each other. Let us not allow politicans to tell us who is our own & who isn't. We need to see beyond vote bank poitics.
The politics of divide & rule now needs to end. I think none of my Marathi Brothers & Sisters ever asked for this protection of rights to SHIV SENA or MNS, then who gave them the right to fight for us & hurt our own brothers & sisters in our own house. Yet many of us clap & shower applause on a divisional politics lecture by a RAJ THACKERAY & UDHAV THACKERAY. This gimmickry can fill newspapers & your mind for an hour but it is a remixed non-sense.
Yes, MAHARASHTRA is for all INDIANS & all INDIANS own MUMBAI as much as any MAHARASTRIAN BROTHERS & SISTERS own DELHI, CHENNAI, KOLKATA, BANGALORE, HYDERABAD or anywhere of INDIA. Even if some state has gotten away with such acts in the past, we don't need to repeat the past. It is high time that the voice of BAPU & SARDAR is heard again for a UNITED INDIA un-divided by DIVISIONAL POLITICS. Let us rise & shine brothers & sisters.
We are INDIANS FIRST & then anything else...............Let us not allow a division now........................
